TL-TBR told me to ask you about driveshafts

I have read messages indicating that there is a difference between 6cyl and 8cyl maverick driveshafts. Is this the case and does it apply to all years? I own a 1974 with a 200 and I'll be switching to the V-8 this winter. I will try to find a V-8 shaft if it is heavier.
