The float in my maverick cracked. Then it just filled with gas and sank to the bottom. They gave me a new float at the wrecking yard for free so it was a cheap fix! One tip: When you pull the sending unit out, the best way to get the gas out is to buy about 3 feet of fuel line and connect it to the tank where your regular fuel line is and run it to the gas can or whatever you're putting the gas in. Then jack up the passenger side of the car to get as much out as you can. It works better than siphoning.
: Hey guys My 74 mav gas gage hasn't worked for a long time need to fix it now . Any ideas on where to look for the problem?ie wireing, sending unit or the gage . Thanks Russsmav
