Sunvisor Anchor Pin Removal

I have new sunvisor anchor pins for my Comet, but was having trouble getting the old one out. I've even gone so far as drilling the remaining stub out of the metal clip holding the old pin, and still haven't gotten it all out. I know from experience, it's best to stop before I mutilate it futher. (The old visor is a little frail after all these years) Does anyone have a suggestion?
