: I just bought a 72 Grabber that needed trans. reworked when i pulled it out i noticed the flywheel was cracked.I need a new one but i was told all 302 flywheels are not the same. The vin.# is 2X93F312324 the no. on the engine is C90E-6015-C how can i tell if this is the factory motor if its not does anybody know what its out of?
:If the flywheel is cracked get a new one. Unless someone did something rare and exotic to the engine balancing you're pretty safe with a standard flywheel. If you really want to be sure, drop the pan and on the front of the crankshaft by #1 rod is a chasting mark= 2M, 2MA for 302s. Then take that info and your old flywheel down to a machineshop/parts store and order a new one. When the new arrives send it and the old one to the Balancing Shop. They can use the old for the standard on the new one.
