: About 5 months ago I put in a 2 1/4 dual exhaust with flowmasters. I went with the 2 chamber "40 series" and they sound fantastic. It isn't what I'd call TOO loud and I haven't been pulled over by the sound police yet. They have a real deep rumble and are actually very quiet in the "cockpit" at freeway speeds. If you want a little quieter, go with the 3 chamber "50 series." The only problem is that they are a little bit longer and there isn't a lot of room to put them underneath the Mav. Good luck. By the way, I don't have headers on mine, just stock exhaust manifolds.
: : I know the flowmasters are good for performance but how about sound? I ride a Harley with super loud pipes and get by with it all the time BUT the mav I'm building is for my teen age son! The car costs enough without a bunch of tickets for noise. I would like good sound but not the loudest pipes in town. Thanks for any input.
Headers would probably give it a little throatier sound than stock manifolds.
