: The theme in your posts indicates you have limited experience and a tight
: budget. Where are you? Sounds like you need to locate someone in your
: area to teach you some basics. An independent mechanic will give your car
: the once over for a reasonable price and tell you where to start in order
: of safety. Head to your local library with a pocketful of change and
: copy the relevant pages out of the Chilton Manuals. Get your tools from
: Sears as you need them. (if you are going to do your own repairs) Before
: you buy a specialty tool, ask yourself if you will use it again. It may
: be wiser to pay for the work than to buy a tool. Pawn shops are good for
: hand tools. Bushings can be bought at most parts stores.
Right on the nose. Im from central illinois, and the mav i want to buy is the only mav in town. (i think there is one in a town about 30 miles north of here though...) im not a carhead at all, but im sure i can figure it out, especially on a car that freaking simple. (an engine and a battery is all i saw under the hood!!!) but i was denied the loan from the bank (because i have a mohawk i believe) so im selling my computer to get the mav. the engine has 152k miles on it, but ran GREAT. the automatic transmission shifted smoothly too. the only problem i saw (err... heard) was the knocking in the front end. im pretty sure it has something to do with the shocks, cause the steering is just fine. anyways, i hope i can find a buyer for my computer, cause that mav was one of those cars that i just COULDNT pass up. thanks for all your help so far guys, and im sure ill be on more to annoy you!
