My differential was leaking from the front seal right were the yoke goes in. I replaced the seal (Did U-Joints too!) and its still leaking. A friend of my dads had the same problem with a Ford a long time ago and remembers that the yoke shaft actually had a small groove worn in it from the seal rubbing on it. He said he got something called a "seal saver" or something like that was like a metal band that goes around the shaft and covers the groove. Has anyone else ever heard of this or know where one can be found? I'll do some research in the next couple days and fill everyone else in incase this ever happens to one of you. By the way, have you ever noticed that ANYTHING involving work on a car takes about 6 times longer than expected? I planned to do sway bar bushings, fix my leaking tranny, power steering, and rear end, plus U-Joints all today. Instead I spent 6 hours on the rear and U-Joints alone. Of course, that included a bike ride to the parts store because they gave me the wrong damn part the first time!! Sorry for the long post
Thanks,
Brandon
