: The 76 also has a reasonably fresh 302 and power steering. Since my 108 pound wife insits that she will also be driving the car and the power steering must be put on, what is the easiest way to swap the engine.

: Can the engine and the tranny be pulled as one?

: Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Yup...pulling the motor and tranny is a breaze. Just make sure that you have a chain faul, or something STRONG to pull them out with. Just have to disconnect the drivesahft and remove. Take the tranny crossmember out. Disconnect all hoses and wiring, including the speedo cable, and linkage. Disconnect the motor mounts, and pull! Just that easy. Shouldn't take more than an hour. You will want to remove the radiator, and the hood(duh). Raise the car up a few feet to have clearance for the hanging tranny. Cap the tranny off somehow. Take the driveshaft out of the 76, pull the yoke off the drive shaft, and use it to plug the tranny. Tie it off with some bailing wire. Should keep the fluid from getting everywhere. Pretty simple.
