: Find a donor car if at all possible. There are many parts beyond just the motor mounts that are needed! I just stripped a donor car for this swap and I took the motor including the exhaust manifolds, transmission, motor mounts (bolts to the frame), trans crossemember, "bar" that crosses between the frame "rails" under the motor (it is bolted in not welded in), and the radiator (if it is bigger). In addition, I took the disc brake setup. My donor car did not have the driveshaft in it, but take that as well if you find a V8 donor car. The V8 obviously has different brackets for the alternator, AC compressor etc. In your case the 250 C4 trans will bolt up to the 302. In my case, I have the 200 CID motor so I needed the trans and shifter linkage as well. I'm new to this particular swap and I suggest you follow up on my info by asking some of the others on this message board about the swap.

: : What is involved in swapping out an inline 6 to a 302? Is it best to buy a clapped out V8 maverick for all the brackets and stuff? How about tranny, rear and radiator. I am about to purchase an ultra clean "old lady" car as the seller puts it and I would like to know what's in the future.
