Hi Ward,
You can use one from a 78-80 Lincoln Versailles. You also get disc brakes out of the deal too. Take a look at the FAQ article I wrote on the subject for all the particulars...
: Hi Sam,
: it was me (WM) asking about the 9". What year or years of the Versaille will work. Forgive my ignorance but I'm not familiar with the Versaille model. Fill me in!
: : Hi John,
: : Yep, the perches are in the same position. It is a direct swap to the Maverick.
: : : Hi Sam, are the spring "perches" on the Versaille 9" in the same location as the 8" or is there a slight difference? Thanks for the help on the EFI info. It is greatly appreciated!
: : : : Hi John,
: : : : I run those same wheels on my Mav. I have 205's up front and 245's in the rear, and I am running the Versailles 9", which is an inch wider overall, so you could probably fit 255's on your stock Maverick rear axle.
: : : : : Can any of you guys who are using 14x7 Magnum wheels give me the benefit of your experience re; maximum tire sizes practical for use on a stock height Maverick? I'm planning to use the same or slighly larger tires on the rear and would like to avoid getting something that's going to rub. What has worked for you? Thanks. John B.
