I have had manual steering on both of my Mavs. Have never owned a car, or truck with power steering. Thought it would be nice to have even though I don't really like power steering. Power steerings advantages don't out way manual steerings disadvantages. In other words, I'd really rather be able to steer the car to a stop if the engine dies, or the belt brakes. Actually, the gear box that I have is power assist, so I don't think they are different. The hoses don't connect to the gearbox like real power steering does.

: Do you have a manual steering box and are looking for a power steering box or is it the other way around? I am willing to trade my power steering box for a manual one. This is providing that they are different ( I would think that the manual steering box would be a different gear ratio). Also I think I have the brackets that you need.
: If you did have manual steering, what was it like? Do you like it or not? I am putting in a stroker 351 in my car and would like to delete the power steering. I am also adding front disk brakes. If you ( Or anyone) knows that the diffence is ( what I have to change) to runthe manual steering I would like to know.
