Can you convert a "big bumper" Mav to a "small bumper" Mav???

I have a '76 Mav in great shape it's just that it has those HUGE guard rails on the front and rear, I love the look of the earlier Mavs with the "barely there" bumbers. Can I do this, is it hard, are parts hard to find/expensive?????????
