The only real drawback is that you don't get the "road feel" that todays cars have with modern "high effort" power steering. Mine works fine, other than a leaky control valve. Manual steering sucks because it is a slower ratio. Like 6 turns lock-to-lock. The power steering is 4 turns lock-to-lock...
: I got a friend that says the power steering setup used on Mavericks are junk, and they don't work well. However, I wouldn't know, since I've never drove or ridden in a maverick before. Any complaints from you guys? My mav has power steering, and when I get the engine done, I plan on using it. I got looking at the Ram device and all the lines, and it does look kinda funky. My friend tells me that power steering off of a late model Mercury Sable will go onto a maverick and work better. Is he full of it?
