: : : Brand new custom-fit dash covers for Mavericks! $62 for black ones. $70 for colored. The ad specificly states that they make them for Mavericks and Comets. The stock numbers are (black) 94cj0407uf (colors) 78cj4939bf. They are through JCWhitney. Phone #:312-431-6102.

: : : YEP , I HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED ONE ON A 71 GRABBER (BLACK COVER) I UNDERSTOOD THEM TO ONLY BE AVAILABLE IN BLACK AND THAT YOU HAD TO PAINT THEM WITH "VINYL PAINT" . ANYWAY THEY INSTALL RIGHT OVER YOUR EXISTING DASHPAD , YOU ROUGH IT UP WITH COARSE SANDPAPER AND THEN APPLY SOME SILICONE GLUE (IT COMES WITH THE COVER) THEN YOU SIMPLY PUT THE COVER ON AND LAY SOME WEIGHTS ON IT UNTILL THE GLUE DRIES. THEY FIT LIKE A GLOVE AND LOOK LIKE A NEW ,FACTORY DASHPAD!!

:
: Fits right over the old one? Did you have to trim anything off the old pad, like where the cracks are and it bows up?

------------------------------------

When I did mine, I did have to do a little minor trimming to make it fit just right, but nothing dramatic. I definitely recommend one--much easier than trying to find an uncracked salvage yard replacement. Unless you're a purist, or someone who's planning on a concourse restoration, I'd say these dash pads should fill the bill.
