: I'm not sure with Mavericks, but there is a difference in the steering ratios between manual and power steering. Power steering usually has a lower ratio (16:1 for Mustangs) compared to manual steering 22:1. Without the power assist, turning in or out of a parking spot with a non-power assisted power steering box will definately build your character.
The trick is to get the car moving a little, then turn. Easier on your arms, and on the steering components.
