FYI...the scoops are too low and too far back on the hood to ever generate a ram effect. Take a look at water droplets on the hood the next time you drive in the rain (gasp, we would never do that would we?). The droplets just sit there - hence no airflow except turbulence. It's not a total waste, however, the scoops would allow cool air in :-)

: Air Inlet Systems makes the "Ram Air Box" air cleaner with a dual snorkel inlets. With some type of hose it would make a great ram air set up for those of us with Grabber hoods....

: : I'd definitely use the mesh. If you've got a real powerhouse, you'll need to keep out those unwanted leaves, unwary birds, etc from getting sucked in from the trees or wherever! You just never know. And the tubing would be cool if you could duct it straight to the air cleaner! After a little more work on mine, I'll be looking for a G-hood or even a 'glass hood.

: : : Someone punched out the holes in my grabber hood. I'm thinking i might put some wire mesh (if i can find any that looks good) to put behind the holes. Otherwise, the scoops just go straight into the upper shock mounts, you could possibly make them functional with some creativity and some of that flexible metal hose used for a/c and heaters in houses. It would be really cool if you could get your hands on a twin turbo (someday, maybe) and make the scoops functional.
