THats because you have less back pressure...i put duals on mine at work...and i was lucky enough to snagg tailpipes off of a '97 mustang GT and weld them to my system...but with the duals it sure does bark a lot louder, with it seeming like it has less power really...
talking with the guys at work, they all agree with me that theres less back pressure.....i believe a 4 barrel would help out...thats gonna be the next thing i do on my mav :)
: All I know is that it doesn't hit second as hard as it used to.
: : That's a myth...Your stock exhaust manifolds provide PLENTY of backpressure...

: : : For me happiness comes in the form of some 2 1/4" metal tubing and some weird looking metal boxes. Today i took my first step towards a faster Maverick! I had a 2 1/4" dual exhaust system installed with 2 chamber flowmasters. I never dreamed my car would sound this good. It now "barks" instead of "wimpering." The only thing I don't like is the slight loss in low end torque but a 4V carb should solve that problem! My 302 doesn't sound like a 6cyl anymore! Sorry about this long post but I had to share my happiness with someone who might appreciate this. Thanks for all the help with my exhaust questions over the past weeks.
