To lower the car, you "raise" the upper A-arm. Cutting a coil from the coil spings will also lower the car. It also increases the stiffness of the overall spring (that's go for cornering).

I tried both of these options on my 6 cylinder 69.5 Mav. when putting my Boss 302 in. Raising the A-arms was no big deal. The steel on the shock towers is pretty tough so get a good drill bit. When I was done and lowered the engine in, I only had about 2" of clearance between headers and the road. Pulling out of the garage resulted in dented header collectors. First change was to put original springs back in (which by the way be very careful installing). Still sat low. I then repositioned upper control arm back in the original position and installed the cut coil springs - still sat low. I put everything back to stock and she sat perfect. Advice, if you don't have a good 6" clearance to start, don't change anything.

Hey! Well, almost everybody knows by know that Shelby liked to move the lower A arms down about an inch on his mustangs...i'm having some problems controlling my car while turning and i figured i'd either hack the springs down a coil or two relocate the "A" arms. I'd like to hear some arguments on which is better for the amount of effort put in, and also how easy it is to lower the A arms (assuming my shock towers have already been blown out for replacement).

: Thanks!
