The float in your tank that floats on top of the gas probably has a leak. This happened to me and it makes the float sink a little and you don't get an accurate reading. By the way, my chilton's says the tank holds 16 gallons, not 14.
: When its full it only shows 3/4 tank, then when its below empty and I can only get about 9 gallons into it. I guess I knew the guage was screwed up but I wasn't sure if 'E' still meant empty. I guess not. Thanks for the info, DS.
