Hey Chris, i did the swap in my 70 Grabber. originally had the 250 six banger. Anyway, i didn't change the front springs since i drag race the car and the six cylinder springs seem to transfer the weight really well. Plus I like my maverick lower than the original height. I always get compliments on the stance. I used the same transmission that came with the 6 cylinder and the car has gone 12.00's in the quarter and the transmission has stood up to it. I didn't use a different crossmember either. I'm not gonna lie, the car doesn't handle like a sports car in the corners, but it rips going striaght ! It turns fine though. I guess it all depends what you want to do with it. My preference is quarter mile and a little blue bottle in the trunk for an extra 150 ponies.

: Just wondering, were there any differences in the structure of the v8 mavs versus the i6's? Or did they change any thing over the years? I have a 69.5 that i would like to put a 302 into.
