: : I know there is a number of different sites and dozens of references I could look up to find the info I need but one or some of you guys can tell me more in 2 minutes and 2 lines than I can find in 2 days so please: What are the basic differences, similarities, and interchangable items between 200ci and 250 ci 6 cyl. engines? Thanks in advance. CeePry
: Are you thinking of swapping a 200 for a 250? If so, I think the 250 will probably not give you much more power. I know that Paulie's 170 out-performs my 250, oddly enough. As far as interchangeabliity goes, I don't know for sure, but I would suspect that there would be very few if any differences.
I have bought an older car that has had a 170----250 style motor swapped into it (I recognize it as that family of engine). The person I bought it from hasn't a clue as to exactly which engine it is but thinks it is a 200 or a 250. It will surely need some maintenance work and I have a few modifications in mind for it but I'm trying to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible. I will not be on my home turf with my own reference books and resources for several weeks and a cursory glance thru several Maverick sites gave me no information. A V-8 swap is NOT an option so I turned here for possible help. Thanks for your reply.
