The heads are identical on the 200/250. BTW: mounting a 170 head on a 200/250 yeilds a big compression ratio bump, due to the 170's smaller combustion chambers. There is a diff in the deck height due to the longer crank throws. Likewise, I believe the rods are longer in the 250. If I recall the 170 uses 5 main bearings and the 200/250 uses 7 mains (a bullet-proof bottom end). The pistons (200/250 only), cam, lifters, valve-train etc are interchangable. The 250 uses a larger flywheel & clutch and as a result, has the starter motor located differently than the 200. That is your best external clue as to which engine you have. Hope this helps.

: I know there is a number of different sites and dozens of references I could look up to find the info I need but one or some of you guys can tell me more in 2 minutes and 2 lines than I can find in 2 days so please: What are the basic differences, similarities, and interchangable items between 200ci and 250 ci 6 cyl. engines? Thanks in advance. CeePry
