: Hello everyone, I hope that someone here can help me with my problem. I just had the 250 I6 engine pulled out to be rebuilt. Well, that was done and I went to sit it back in. I hooked up everything the way it was (I think) and the engine runs fine but when I stick her in gear, I get no movement. I have a C-4 transmission. The transmission was working before. what's the deal? I've made sure the fluid level is right what else can I check or do. I know that the transmission is going into gear because I am able to push the car in neutral but not while in drive or park. Please help.

This is probably not going to be helpful or happy news, but my boss just had the exact same thing happen to him. A rebuilt engine puts out more power, and if your tranny is in so-so shape, that extra power can break it. This seems to be a fairly common ocurrance. However, there is always the possibility that you overlooked something when you hooked it back up. Wait for a few more people to respond before giving up hope though, most people on this board seem to know more than I about this type of thing.
