Excuse me gentlemen, but exhaust size is very important. Too much will hurt you off the line if you do not see the upper RPMs and not enough sux when you have the power to get to there. I have bent hundreds of custom exhaust systems and most people overkill but hey they are the customer and if it is what they want then by all means :) Rule of thumb is 150 to 200 hp 2 inch, 2 1/4 for 200 to 300, 300to 450 is 2 1/2 etc.. Then there are deciding factors such as is the car Daily driven. Turbos Super chargers etc..... X pipes , H pipes also do a world of good, because they help control the exhaust pulse. As far as the 4.6l with 2 and half think about how much better those engines breath than a 302!!!
