Had the same problem when I installed a Carter carb on my 302.
Summit Racing sent an air cleaner that dropped down onto the choke.
They replaced it with a flat bottom, very narrow ( 1 1/2" ) cleaner
that fits great with no spacers.
: First of all, I'm looking for a 14" chrome air cleaner. I tried one brand at a parts store and it sat slightly too low and hit on the choke on my 302. What brands/models fit? Do the Edelbrock ones fit? Secondly, I finally got annoyed with the stupid seat belt buzzer when I have a package on the passenger seat or I get in the car to move it 3 feet and it goes off. For anyone who wants to know, there is a plug under the passenger side of the seat. Just unplug that and it will take care of that side. If you look on the seat belt housing on the floor of the driver side, there is a small circle that pops out. Search around in there and there is a purple wire with a white stripe. Just cut that and no more buzzer!! You can put that in the FAQ if you want Stefan. :-) Has anyone converted from the two piece seat belts in the '72 to some regular ones? How?
