I think the Unequal length shorties will fit, the equal length shorties might have some shock tower clearance problems. companies also make some "in between headers" that aren't full length, but they aren't shorties either. Cheapest full length headers i've seen are out of the summit catalog, they're about $80, and have 1 1/2" primaries and 3" collector. Most "good looking" shorties will run in excess of $200 and will most likely have 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 collectors. Also, they don't have conventional collectors.
as for leaky collector gaskets, invest in some aluminum or copper gaskets for about $10, they can also be reused.
: I've never seen shorty headers for the Maverick... the late model Mustang headers will not fit unfortunately. I'd like to use shorty headers to get rid of those leaky collector gaskets.
