Don't waste your time attempting to rebuild it: replace it. I installed the Grabber grill with the sport light option on my Mav a few weeks ago. To do so, I had to replace the entire wiring harness. It sounds like a bitch, but it was not too bad. It has to be lot better than attempting to repair the mess someone else made. Save yourself a lot of grief and find a good harness from the same year and replace the whole thing.
