You could have some "spoiled" gas. When gasoline 'sits' for an extended period of time it "sours" (sort of like milk does...). It will begin to turn to a varnish-like substance (like the 'gunk' that builds up around the carb body exterior over a long period of time form seepage/leaks). Try Dan's advice (works for me EVERY time too!) and use a little FRESH 'raw' fuel down the carb then crank her over. I suggest using some sort of fuel stabilizer additive next time you have to "go out on manuvers" (in my case it was 'deployments!'...USN 84thru93). Ask for it at you favorite parts store and they should know what you need (I know one brand is dcalled "Stabil" but there are several available).
