The extra weight of the v8 would be too much. You're on the right track with the suspension travel issue. When the springs are already partly compressed at rest, you may have coil bind on full bump. If you want to lower the front, there are better ways to go.

I like the front end low! I currently have a V-8 parts car so the V-8 springs are not a problem. Will the 6cyl springs not have enough travel with the heavier V-8? thanks
