I hate automatics with a passion, I miss my old auto trans in my 1st mav,
to each his (or hers in this matter) own

on doing the swap, I've thought about the same thing, I do know that the guys who run the local roundy round dirt track cars have universal hydraulic clutches in their cars, I'm sure that there could be a way to do a cable clutch too, mustanges had them in the 70's didnt they? Z bar cluches seem like a silly waste of metal to do the simple job that they do..... anyway, if you want to stick a manual in there paulie , do it!..... it cant be that hard right ?, murphys law never takes ahold of automotive projects anyway :)

: It really doesn't have anything to do with value of the car....it's just that the hassle you will have to go thru just doesn't seem worth it to ME...but it might be worth it to YOU!!! and that is all that really matters.

: As far as the swap, you will need the complete clutch/brake pedal assembly out of a donor car. This will also require the removal of the steering column to do this swap. You will also need the Z-Bar, both clutch rods, driveshaft, etc. off the donor car.

: Other things to consider with the swap. Speedometer cable....different, same, I don't know. Crossmember....same, different, I don't know again.

: For all the money you will spend, you can have your auto rebuilt and save money...and be that much closer to a V-8....that is some of the problems I see.

: It is your car. Do what you like and have fun!!

: ============================================
: : I don't really care for automatics, I don't care if it's going to devalue my car (or raise the value for that matter).
: : So why not?
