A few years ago ( early 80's) a man who owns a Ford dealership in a nearby town kept asking me when I was gonna sell him my 76 Stallion. I told him time after time that the car is not for sale. Finally one day I asked him why he wanted my car so badly. He told me that only 500 Stallions were produced with a V8 and that he really wanted to buy mine. I then proceeded to tell him that since mine was the first new car I ever bought that I would never sell it, and he could try and buy it at my estate sale if he should live longer than me. I dont know if this production figure is correct but I have really have begun to think it is true. By the way my Stallion has only 16K original miles on it. It has always had a life of shelter as I originally used it as my street machine/ bracket racer, so it has only seen toy use if that makes sense.
: : I'm looking for information on the actual number of 76 Maverick Stallions produced. Info from one source says 15,000. I'm wondering because I've been sitting on an (mostly)) original (replaced fender hood scoop added) Stallion with just 55,000 miles on it. When I got the car it had the original spark plugs and oil filter, Its starting to show some wear now and I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to restore it. Thanks for any input!

: I dont know how many were produced but it is a rare Maverick. I have had this web page up since 1996 and have been in contact with only two Stallion owners. If I had this car, i would try to restore it to it's original specs.
