Thanks for the tip. I have a shelf in my mav, I'm going to try to find a plastic mounting bracket and make something up to hold it. The OEM bracket in the mav looks like it would be hard to cut and still keep it looking original after repainting the cut edge and so on. I replacing the AM radio with an older tape deck that has knobs instead of buttons also, the knobs stick out alot farther and the OEM radio, and it looks strange. I may just leave the stereo on the shelf and go out and by a CD player in a couple of weeks. I not driving the mav much right now, still fixing up alot of little things. I'll probably start driving it regularlly in a month or so, and then I'm gonna want some music!

: ...the "package shelf" (lower dash) type of radio mounting plates are a little tougher to come by than the later "glove box" type mounting plates. The "glove box" type plates ARE a dime a dozen!!!
