In my '72 2-door there wasn't room to mount the 6.5"s in the door so I assume it won't fit in your doors. I have 2 6.5s in the front kick panels and 2 6X9s in the rear over the trunk. Sounds like WAY too much wattage for the equipment you want to install.
: I'm obviously gonna want to take out that center mounted speaker and install some new ones. First off, is it posible to put 6 1/2" speakers in the front and rear doors for a '71 Mav 4 door? and how do you get those window cranks off (I need to fix my drivers door lock) I sawl that there a OEM cutouts for 6x9's in the trunk, so I know I can put speakers in there. There isn't any way to dash mount any speakers that I can tell, Any suggestions?
: My plan is to stick 6 1/2" in all 4 doors. Put some 6x9's in the trunk and put a bandpass box in the trunk with some 10" or 12" thumpers. Power it all with 3 amps. One 4 channel amp in the front for the 4 doors @ about 600 watts, one 2 channel for the 6x9's and about 200 or 300 watts, and about 1200 watts for the box in the trunk. Should I have any problems pulling over 2000 Watts on the car? Should I drop in a new alternator with a bit more power?
: Thanks again for everybody's help. I've been amazed by all the usefull info I've gotten so far.
