It depends a lot on state law but many criminal courts require the accused to pay restitution to his victims. Let the prosecutor on the case know that is your expectation and be relentless about pursuing the issue (squeaky wheel approach). This can be done even while the SOB is in prison. Also he may have assets that are not apparent, such as an interest in family property etc. Sometimes non-loser families have loser members. He may have an inheritence that he can't reach yet or may be isolated from an otherwise successful family for social problems. Know days it is relatively easy to research an individual's assets by use of computerized records. Could be done by an attorney or private detective and I believe there are even groups on the net whe specialize in that sort of thing. It all costs but may be worth it.
