I know, I'm just really short on funds right now, I can get a pair of 6x9's for 15 bucks, they don't sound great, but better than the mono speaker. It's just tempory, I'll use them for about a month, and then spend some money on some good speakers. Pawn Shops are my friend! There's 3 within 2 blocks of my house, and many more in the area. I know of about 10 in a five mile radius. A friend of mine got a large box with a pair of 600 watt 12"'s for 79 bucks at the pawn shop, and a 500 watt amp for 40 bucks. The box they were in is $119 bucks at Custom Sounds, so he got a great deal. I'm most likly gonna stick with the bandpass, I want something that will blow my doors off...hehe. I've gotten some really cheap speakers in the past, and will never consider doing it for a good system, but I'm running a 2nd hand tape deck that sucks by itself. I wanna go by a clarion cd player..mybe a 10 changer. If I can find a good center console that will fit it, that would be awesome. I hate trunk moutned units. I put too much back there to have a 300 dollar peice of equipent getting banged up. Thanks again!
: Do NOT buy cheap speakers, they are exactly that, CHEAP. Instead of buying a bunch of cheap ones get a couple good ones. There is NO competion between a Radio Shack 6x9 and a MTX 6x9. You would get better sound going with 1 pair of (Name your favorite brand) 6x9s mounted in the trunk than all 4 of the cheap no name speakers in you doors, Especially if you are running all of them off your deck alone. I started my stereo with 2 Pro Plus cheap speakers and then I got a pair of MTX 6x9's and the 6x9s KILLED my 12's. If you live in a big town to to the pawn shops, they will let you hook up speakers to your amp and listen to them. A friend of mine scored a pair of Cerwin-Vega Stealth Series 12's for 100 bucks includeing the box!
