:mystical,"fairly stock" 2.3L, you need to read a little deeper past the first paragraph, 150HP NOS, special turbo, head work etc, and runs in the high 12s without NOS, put a 150hp NOS on those big boys and see what happens, you'll see 9s.
It just amazes me what people think is "streetable" big turbo and 150hp NOS is not streetable and is still a high maintence "daily driver". Put three friends in that Pinto and see now "streetable" it is.
Just like the 8 second Stang and Camaros are "streetable". seen a guy at the track that runs low 11s with a Cleveland Pinto that is also "streetable" without NOS. And besides we're talking Mavericks here last time I checked , not Pintos, Like to see his "streetable" gas tank setup also.
So you want to see a well tuned, nicely built pinto that can run in the 10's? Ok check out This 76 pinto with a fairly stock 2.3L svo turbo motor. And it ran the hot rod power tour without a hitch. This is not the only one either, just look around on the web and you will find many 2.3L Turbo motored car capable of 10 second runs, the Merkurs are especially quick since they have the most ridiged chasis of the stock 2.3L Turbo applications. Happy reading
