I agree with all the above. I'd rather have the 69.5 n/m

: I am considering (or rather, this guy AND i) are considering swapping mavericks, and i'd appreciate any advice anyone can offer on whether or not it's a fair trade:

: Mine:
: -69.5 Maverick
: -i6 200 engine, electronic ignition and duraspark, bad rings and burnt valves, otherwise solid
: -c4 auto, bands need adjustment, but that's it
: -low mileage 8" rear just added
: -new paint (about 2 mos. old)
: -perfect bumpers, fairly straight body, perfect grille (w/ emblem), "re-done" interior--new carpet, buckets, redone dash w/ good dashpad, new windshield gaskets fr/rr...
: -new radiator, steering box (man.), rebuilt front end, NO RUST (ziebarted), decent tires on chrome rims, rebuilt carb, etc. etc.

: Basically, a good shape car with a running (decently, not perfectly though) straight 6.

: His:
: '71 Maverick Grabber
: 302 v8, no air, manual steering (i think), man. brakes, buckets in great need of reupholstering, rusted through rear 1/4s on both sides, engine is supposedly running great, not burning oil, new radiator/water pump, grabber hood is there, but went over the roof at one point so is bent up in rear corners, in need of paint, lots of trim on front is in bad shape, still front drums, stock rims w/ 2 new tires....basically, a fixer-upper.

: So....who's getting a better deal? Should i just keep mine and swap in a 302 or 351W like i had originally planned? Or is he ripping me off....are grabbers worth much, even in lousy condition like this one? He was asking $950 in the paper...i'd like to think mine is worth more than that!!
: Thanks for any and all advice, help, etc. you can offer!! I really appreciate it.

: ~Chris~
