An "H" pipe is a exactly what you would think it
is. A left and a right head pipe with a crossover
pipe welded between it somewhere about under the
tranny. The crossover pipe equalizes the pulses
between the left and right exhaust banks. It helps
the entire assembly to pull the exhaust out better.
I still have one for a 72 Gran Torino I once
owned. Standing up against my cellar wall it looks
like a giant "H".
