First of all, a 302 will NEVER produce that kind of power with stock cylinder heads. You'll need to spend some SERIOUS $$ on some trick heads with big heads. Second, you'll need a SERIOUS high lift--long duration cam (CompetitionCams) . You'll need a KILLER ignition system (MSD RULES) and a Performer-RPM or Victor Jr. (Edelbrock) intake manifold. A HOLLEY 750cfm carb. The stock rod bolts and oil pump drive will have to be upgraded to handle the power. Also, get a Fluidamper harmonic balancer. You'll need forged roller rocker arms. HEADERS with 2.5 inch exhausts. The thing will idle really ROUGH but that't what it takes to get 350-400hp from a 302...
Oh yea; almost forgot 10:1 forged pistons...
: Here's the situation. I'm planning to rebuild my 302-2V What I want is something that will really smoke. I'd like to be pushing from 350 to 400hp. So my question is what would be the best equipment for that type of motor? Advice on Carbs, Manifolds, Cams, Lifters and that sort of thing would be appreciated!
