Hmmm. My Comet (76) has the two piece assembly like you describe for Canadian cars. Either they only made that distinction for Mavericks, or New Jersey became part of Canada. ;-)

: : : : Hello All,

: : : : I've discovered that my 1972/302 2DR Maverick was manufactured in Canada, late 1971. Are there any (significant or minor) differences between Canadian models and American models?

: : : There is one difference that was pointed out to me and I verified with my cars.
: : : Mavs destined for sale in Canada have a dual piece of metal that is attached to the lower part of the front fender, while the US ones have a single part.

: : : I have a 74 that was built and sold in Canada and a 75 that was built in the US and sold in Canada and they both have the dual piece.
: : : On the other hand, my 76 that was built in Canada and sold in the US has the single piece.

: : : I may be wrong, because maybe all 76 - 77 have the single piece

: : what the hell are you talking about?

: The piece of metal on the lower part of the front fender, below the side marker light that attaches the fender to the body.
