Your problem is relatively simple to cure. I had basically the same problem with my 1976 Maverick retractable hard-top. If you will go to most any junkyard in NC, and search in any of the numerous V-16, 1949 Nash convertibles, you will find that the electrical system for your convertible top and the Nash top are interchangeable. They are very nice people and if you stay and have dinner with them, they will most likely give you the part you need for free, or cheaper. SINCERELY, Ralph
