A friend of mine who knows Spanish confirmed a story I've heard many times over the years that Chevrolet had run into marketing problems back in the '70s when they tried to sell the Chevy Nova in Latin American countries. It turns out that "Nova" in Spanish means "doesn't run." Not exactly a good thing to name a car.
A little off the subject, but I thought it was an amusing story...
