All MAVERICK hoods from all years are interchangeable, and will fit your car. A grabber hood has the two dummy scoops that you already are familiar with, and will also fit (if you can find one). A hood from a COMET will bolt on to you car, but will NOT latch due to its different shape in the front, so don't let some junkyard guy try to talk you into one.

: I have a 69 1/2 Mavrick that according to a friend who used to do body work will be more than I have the knowledge or equipment to repair. All under where the chrome trim on the front screws in is rusted out so I am going to be looking for another hood. I know the Grabber has a different hood but what I need to know is what other hoods if any are the same pattern. I know most of them will prob fit but was wondering if the pitch - indentions etc would be the same so when I am talking to a salvage yard a 72 would look the same as a 70 etc. Any information so I dont have to tote my hood all over while I look would be appreicated.....Thanks
