If memory serves me right, the Maverick was kept on at dealer request after the Granada came out because there was enough demand for both. The original plans at Ford called for the elimination of the Maverick when the Granada was introduced. It actually took a year or two for the Granada to kill the Maverick. Further proof of how tough the Maverick can be. ;-)
