Well, I never actually timed mine, but I wouldn't expect any of the sixes, especially the later ones with the emission controls, to be very high performance. Keep in mind that the mission of the six cylinder engines wasn't to burn rubber (certainly not in stock form). They were supposed to provide economical, reliable, and durable transportation. As several people have stated in past posts/debates, you CAN soup up a 250 six, but Ford didn't make it easy to do so.

Politically Correct disclaimer: There's nothing wrong with the 250 six. I personally consider the inline six to be a unique design that you almost never see in today's auto world. Being a bit of a Maverick (no pun intended), I prefer to have something a little different than the usual hot rod.
