: My '76 two door Maverick has a full bench seat in front. I'd like to replace it with bucket seats but can't seam to find any Mavericks around that have them.

: Has anyone pulled bucket seats from another type of donar car and if so, what car were they from, and how easy (hard) was the installation?

: Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I got a set of cool buckets from an 80's Mercury Lynx. I paid $25 for the pair, and although they weren't in perfect shape, I repaired them with a repair kit. As far as installation goes, since you're not going to be able to match holes with the bench seat, you will prob. need 8 new ones. Make sure you test fit the seats, so the doors will shut and also will be able to move the seats forward and back without interferance from armrests, etc. Couple words of advice.....1. don't use a drill bit to go through your carpet, it'll screw up your carpet, instead, cut and x with a sharp knife or razor. 2nd, get grade 8 nuts and bolts for your hold downs. 3rd, I strongly recommend that you use large oversized washers underneath the car. If you look at your old bench seat holes, you will see there are reinforced metal plates under the car to keep the nuts or bolts from going throw the hole during a crash. I used the biggest washers I could find. Also upon installment, I used black silicon to seal the hole to keep out water. Anyway, that was my experience. I know there are plenty of seats that will work just find, a lot of it is up to your taste/style. If you can, test fit them in a Maverick at a junk yard if you buy them there. Also, if you really like a style, there are a lot of companies that make re-upholstery kits of you note the model of car you get the seats from.....good luck.
