I also removed and 'modified' the "crash bar" on my '73 (that HUGE chunk of steel 'for saftey' that the bumper mounts to). Cut away everything but the actual mounting points and reinstalled it...presto! instant weight loss (about 30lbs not 'hangin' in the wind). I'm also in the midsdt of fabbing some brackets to replace those rubber+steel monstrosities called bumper brackets...should be good for another 30 lbs! Now it looks better AND handles better.

DISCLAIMER: Check local laws before you make this mod...some states don't allow "...alterations to vehicle safety systems..."

What they can't see, they don't know about ;-)
: Yea, I removed mine years ago. And I'll tell you; it makes the car look WAY better without 'em. You simply plug the holes with bumper bolts. Can't find any? Well here's a trick: remove the bumper bolts from behind the front license plate and use them. If you have a front license plate, no one will ever know that they're missing...

: : I've heard of people taking off the front bumper gaurds on there Mavs. I have a 73' Grabber. Should I have done this to my car a long time ago ??? T.L. You talk about this befor. Could you(The non bull shit T.L.) help me??? Thanks, Mike.
