get yourself a good deal Paulie, I got a C4 rebuilt for $75,( race ready) of course that was just labor on the tranny, I pulled and cleaned it myself and provided all the parts. Pulling it was easy( i broke a finger) putting in requires either a tranny floor jack or a lot of patience and a little insanity.

: : How much do you think it is going to cost you out there. Here in the heart of the corn fields, I would be able to take my Mav in to the transmission shop, and about $300 later I could drive it home....rebuilt and all. If I really wanted to save, I could pull the transmission out and take it in to them and save about $100. How much does it cost out there?

: I really don't know yet.... In my pre Maverick days I had a Nova that's tranny burned out, I was quoted anywhere from 500 to 2000 dollars!! Mind you, I HAVE to shop around for my mechanics a bit harder as I am female and tend to get the "muffler bearings" treatment...
: I have high hopes for the place I'm taking her on monday (for an all over look-see). I spoke with the owner and it turns out he's another Mav-fan.... we spent more time talking about the rest of the car than the problem!! He also said that he wouldn't charge me extra to replace the fly wheel.... just the cost of the part (which you KNOW I'm going to get myself!)
