I'm with Craig on this one...it's busted...that's one of those 'little' things that drive me NUTS. It wasn't on my Mav though, it was on my truck ('65 F-100). IF you decide to replace the whole thing (wires and all) a neat trick is to tie/tape some string to the wires before you pull out the old ones and, voila, you have an easy way to get the new wires down the column.
