: I have a 70 Maverick with a 200 six cylinder. It only has 40,000 miles on it. Lately it has started missing/dragging(?) when I accelerate, usually going uphill. It seems to be getting worse each day. Any suggestions? Also, I seem to be losing oil at about a rate of a quart a month, even though the car doesn't smoke at all. Is this a characteristic of Mavericks, or is something really wrong here?

: Love my Maverick!!!

I've got a 72' with a 250 and when I bought my car it had only 50,000 miles on it. My car didn't seem to smoke or leak much but I was constantly adding oil and my plugs were getting fouled every two weeks. I put new rings in, my old ones fell off in little pieces. It runs perfect now. I found out that my car had sat in a driveway for several years and when I started driving it every day the rings just fell apart, they must have been dried out.
